This half term in FS2 we have been participating in a project run by the NHS called Jobs for Everyone. During these sessions we have been learning all about the different job roles within health and social care. We have learnt about lots of different jobs and can talk about what these people do, we even got to have a video call with some Physiotherapists! We have had some health and social care themed activities in the provision such as a hospital role-play area. We also learnt a song about different jobs and some of us were filmed singing this, we are sending the video to a local care home as we think it will make the residents there smile. At home some of us got creative and made models of different job roles and places you might find in health and social care. We have had lots of fun taking part in this project and now lots of us have aspirations to go on to do some of the jobs we have been learning about when we grow up! What a super afternoon we had for our Sports Day! Lots of the grown ups came to watch us and we all lined up in our teams. We took part in a running race, beanbag race, hurdles and the egg and spoon race. We all tried our best and cheered each other on to the finish line. Afterwards we took our grown ups back to the EYFS grass area to have a well-deserved picnic! What a brilliant day we have had today! We all came dressed in the colours of the Spanish flag, red and yellow. Over the day we have learned how to count and say colours in Spanish, had a Flamenco workshop, painted self portraits in the style of Frida Kahlo and tried some yummy Spanish themed food at dinner time. Take a look at some of the pictures we took throughout the day. This superstar was in a super creative mood this week, just look at his brilliant puppet! He decided he wanted to make a robot and spent most of the morning designing it and putting it together. Once he had done this he decided he wanted it to move but wasn't sure how to do this. Over dinner he had a think and when he came back in to the classroom he had decided he could make it into a puppet. He got busy making holes and adding string unit he could make it's arms, legs and head move. Everyone was really impressed with his creation and he earned himself some well deserved success stones!
