Residential
Yet again, an utterly fantastic time has been had by all the children (and adults) who attended this year's residential visit to Howtown, Ullswater.
The children have truly exceeded themselves by taking part in many new and challenging experiences. Myself, Mrs Cook and Mr Simpson are incredibly proud of them for giving everything a go and pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones.
Across the week, we focused on our Athersley South S.T.A.R.S thinking about how we had been Safe, Thoughtful, Accepting, Resilient and Supportive. The whole group developed these skills across the week and they have grown so much as individuals.
Here are even more photos and videos from across the week.
I can't wait to go again next year!

Monday: Arrival and settling into the centre, followed by a jog and dip!
Tuesday: Gorge walking and nighttime orienteering.
Wednesday: Canoeing and mountain climbing
Thursday: A walk up the snowy mountains.

ULLSWATER 2023
What an amazing time the Year 5/6 children have had at Howtown, Ullswater for this year's residential. The children were absolutely fantastic and challenged themselves in so many different ways. Mrs Gollick and Mr Wheelwright are incredibly proud of what they have achieved. Here's to 2024!
In Mrs Gollick's group, the children were tasked with getting over this beast of a wall using team work and communication skills. Once they had all had a go they were tasked to do it again....but this time....IN SILENCE. They had to use other ways to communicate effectively and still be successful getting over the wall without being able to talk. Safe to say, they smashed it! Take a look at the videos to see how well they did.
These four children have been picked, by their peers, as STARS of the day for Wednesday. They were selected for climbing, organisation and supporting others. Well done!
Meet Tuesday's STARS of the Day, well done!
Tuesday fun in the Lakes. I think these children will sleep well tonight!
After a good journey to Ullswater with no delays, the children have soon settled in. The pictures below are just a snapshot of Monday. Due to very poor phone signal we are only able to receive a few pictures from time to time.
On Tuesday Mr Wheelwright and his children are mountain climbing and going for a jog and dip amongst other activities. Mrs Gollick and her children meanwhile are going rowing, tunnelling and more! It promises to be a fantastic day!

Meet Monday's STARS of the day (as voted for by the children). Well done to the four of you :)
