In Key Stage One this week we have been leaning all about healthy choices and making fruit kebabs as part of 'Healthy Eating Week'. We first thought about a variety of foods and considered which were healthy and which were unhealthy choices. We then thought carefully about fruit and vegetables that we had identified as 'healthy choices.' How do we know which is a fruit and which is a vegetable? We looked carefully at each and tasted a variety. We came to the conclusion that fruits are usually sweeter than vegetables and that fruits have seeds, we catergorised each that we had tasted. After tasting lots of fruits we chose our favourite and designed and made (and most importantly ate) fruit kebabs. We loved talking to our friends and telling them which is our favourite and why, class one's most popular fruit was a strawberry.
