The week before the school holidays KS1 have been getting arty! We have been creating lots of pirate themed work including; treasure maps, pirate treasure, making ourselves into pirates with our own pirate names and making our own feathery friends. We have based all of this around the book 'The Pirates Next Door' written by Jonny Duddle. The story takes place in a seaside town and pirates move in and cause chaos whilst fixing their broken ship. We really enjoyed reading about the adventures they had and the mischief they got into. We gave it 5 stars! We also wrote a message in a bottle back to a scurvy seadog called Jim Lad and designed and made a boat that would float to help the Jolly Rodger family, we really enjoyed testing and adapting them to make sure they worked. We had so much fun being creative and can't wait to see some of our hard work displayed when the KS2 children perform 'The Pirates of the Curry Bean.' ooohhh arrrr!! Comments are closed.
