Our Trip to the Sculpture Park

We went on a lovely trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and had a great time looking at all the different sculptures in the park and learning about the different artist that had created them. We visited a chapel with lights inside that were voice activated it was amazing. We had a walk around all the sculptures and then came back to the base for lunch. After that we go to go on a tour of the sculpture park with an artist called POI. She told us about each piece of art and gave us a sketch book to draw some of the sculptures. We were about to answer questions about the materials used and techniques to create them from the knowledge we had gained in our art lessons at school. Poi was impressed with our knowledge. Odd Socks Day!

We celebrated Anti Bullying week with wearing odd socks to show we are unique and we are united against bullying. we have completed lots of different activities to celebrate. We discussed the people we can speak to if we feel like we are getting bullied, witness bullying or need advice about it. As a school we all know that we have lots of trusted adults around us to speak to and at Athersley South we promise to 'Make a Noise' against bullying.
