KS1 had the pleasure of meeting our time travelling guest, Florence Nightingale today. We have been learning about her important work during History lessons so it was a wonderful opportunity to find out more about her life, what it was like to be alive at that time and the conditions that she worked in. We took part in a number of drama and movement activities, learning key dates and information along the way. Finally, Florence told us about the important work of Mary Seacole. Here is a video of us celebrating her valuable contribution to our society. 23/2/2023 08:40:59 am
Learning about historical figures like Nightingale can provide valuable insights into the past and inspire young students to become agents of change themselves. It's also heartening to see the inclusion of Mary Seacole's contributions, highlighting the often-overlooked contributions of women and minorities in shaping our society. The use of drama and movement activities to reinforce key dates and information is a fantastic way to make learning fun and memorable for children. Well done to the teachers for organizing such a meaningful and enriching experience! Comments are closed.
