Yesterday we had a very special visitor in Key Stage 1. Emma from Compass Be came to speak to the children about their feelings/emotions and did lots of work about how our actions, and those of others, can affect other people's emotions as well as our own.
The children all listened very well and were excellent at identifying emotions and the different emotions we might feel in a range of circumstances. Everyone joined in really well with the discussions and were very respectful towards each other. As part of our science topic for this term the children have been exploring the seasons and what changes can be seen from one season to the next. Yesterday we went for a walk in our woodland area and looked closely at the changes in season, as winter turns into spring. The children all commented on the flowers and trees that are now blossoming and full of life.
Ask us about our woodland walk and what we discovered. The children in class 2 have been working extremely hard in maths! We have been looking at measuring mass, capacity and volume. We have done lots of practical working, measuring the mass of objects using pan scales and measuring capacity and volume by filling and emptying containers. The children have loved the practical working so far this term! In Class 2 we have been learning all about the seasons and the changes that happen within each season. We have looked closely at each of the four seasons and worked in groups to write lots of information about each season. Ask us about the changes that happen in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter! |
