Class 2 in the Woodland

14/3/2022

After finding the Bog Baby in our woodland class 2 have been thinking about how we can make it a better habitat for Bog Babies and other creatures too.
This week we have been litter picking and planting bluebells (a Bog Babies favourite flower to swing through.)
We have done such a great job and can't wait to watch it grow into a fabulous habitat. We are hoping to find lots of new and interesting creatures enjoying it soon.

World Book Day

4/3/2022

We had such fun on world book day! The children in class 2 brought in and came dressed as their favourite book characters. Throughout the day the children had opportunities to share books and tell their friends about books that they enjoy reading at home and school. We also even measured some world book day characters accurately with a ruler in our maths lesson.

Non-Chronological Reports

4/3/2022

Our writing topic is non-chronological reports, we have looked at a variety of reports and thought about the parts that we would like to use in our own reports.
We began by writing a report about a very rare 'Bog Baby' that we were lucky enough to find in our school woodland. We looked after it and wrote a detailed report about him to tell others how to look after a Bog Baby and what to do if you are lucky enough to find one too. Ask us all about it, also keep your eyes peeled as they come out during the Spring!
We have now designed and made our own monsters that we are going to write a report about, sharing lots of detail and information about them. You'll be able to find our class monster book in class 2 when they are complete, come and have a read!

Designing and Making a Clay Tile

4/3/2022

In class 2 we have been having a lot of fun designing a clay animal tile. The children chose an animal to base their tile on an designed their colourful tile.
We really enjoyed experimenting with the different shapes we could create using the clay.
All of the children worked hard to create an animal tile that looked like the original design and finally painted it to really bring it to life.
We really are super artists in class!
    Class 2

    Welcome!

Welcome to Class 2. We all love working hard, trying our very best and having some fun!
Our class teacher is Mr Balmforth.
Miss O'Neill is the LSA that helps us in the mornings.

Our P.E days are Monday and Wednesday.

Weekly spellings go out on Friday with children's book bags and we ask that these are returned the following Monday.
Year 2 children have a maths homework book to complete.
