Learner of the Week - 4.12.20 This amazing young man has been trying phenomenally hard in his writing and has improved drastically since the start of September. Mrs Webb and I are so proud of him! Check out his Evacuee letter home. Performance Reading Every week, the children learn how to read with prosody and get the chance to practise in front of the class. These girls asked if they could perform the poem We Refugees after practising it together. I hope you will agree how brave and talented they are in their performance. Learner of the Week - 27.11.20 This member of our Class 7 has been working their socks off at everything even if she is finding something tricky! Well done and keep up the hard work. Learner of the Week - 20.11.20 This week, this young lady created a fabulous textured hand using different types of pencil. The children were given a range of H and B pencils to practise drawing texture. How fantastic is her art work? Marvellous Maths Last week in Maths, we were exploring factors, factor pairs and common factors. We used cubes to help work out what factors some numbers had by arranging them into arrays. Let There Be Light! In Science we have started a new unit all about LIGHT! On Friday, we used torches to investigate what shadows are and how they can change depending on the position of the light source. We learned that light can not travel through opaque objects and there is no gap between the object and the shadow. We then had a go at creating some scientific diagrams to show this which was a tricky task! Take a look at our the photos below to see the shadows we created. We are Geographers! In Geography we are learning about The United Kingdom. So far we have learnt the four countries, what a county is and some of the major towns and cities. Here we are using atlases to find out more.
