Code Breaking Challenge Excellent teamwork and reasoning skills in our history lesson this week when we worked together to solve secret codes using a cypher wheel. It took quite a bit of perseverance and patience but we did a great job. We learnt about different codes and ways to send messages during WW2 and how mathematicians with great problem solving brains were vital to the war effort. These two fabulous teams were so good at code breaking they even created their own code for each other to solve, and were super competitive to see who solved it first! Blitz Paintings
Air Raid in Athersley It was quite surprising to hear the air raid siren go off (very loudly) in our classroom. We didn't panic, we sat squashed up under our desks and tried to imagine how it would have felt to be a child in WW2 and experience this for real.
