Inspiring Writing

On Friday, all the children in Years 3 and 4 were treated to a Forest School fire experience.

This was to inspire our setting description writing where the children have been asked to describe bonfire night. By having a real fire, the children were able to experience for themselves what it was like and draw on their sense of smell, sight and hearing. The children each got to roast a marshmallow to turn into smores, which allowed them to think about the sense of taste as well. 

The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience, commenting it was 'The best day ever!' and that it was 'The Fridayiest Friday that ever Fridayed.' 

Safe to say, we all had a great time and managed to get some fantastic vocabulary and ideas to plan our writing.
