The Social Communication and Interaction Team have released their latest offer of training for parents. These have proved very popular in the past and are a fantastic way to understand your child's needs further. Please be aware that these training events are only for parents of children with a diagnosis of Autism or on the ASDAT pathway. Below is some information relating to Autism in girls, that I hope you find useful. If you feel your child has autism, please discuss this in the first instance with your child's class teacher.  
Here are the upcoming June and July dates for the Thinking Differently Course, provided free of charge by the Social Communication and Interaction Team   There are many support groups out there in Barnsley if you know where to look. Barnsley's Local Offer gives you a range of different support groups that can be accessed. Click the button below to find out what support groups are available.
A fantastic opportunity not to be missed! Join friendly, welcoming staff to help understand anxiety and what you can do to help support your child/young person.  This week is Anti - Bullying Week. The focus this year is the REACH OUT! Bullying affects millions of lives and can leave us feeling hopeless. But it doesn’t have to be this way. If we challenge it, we can change it. And its tarts by reaching out. Whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, let’s reach out and show each other the support we need. Reach out to someone you trust if you need to talk. Reach out to someone you know is being bullied. Reach out and consider a new approach. And it doesn’t stop with young people. From teachers to parents and influencers to politicians, we all have a responsibility to help each other reach out. Together, let’s be the change we want to see. Reflect on our own behaviour, set positive examples and create kinder communities. It takes courage, but it can change lives. So, this Anti-Bullying Week, let’s come together and reach out to stop bullying. Below are some useful activities that you can complete with your child at home.
 The Taster gives you a general introduction into what Makaton is and who uses it, with the opportunity to learn a few signs and symbols too. The signs and symbols are aimed at pupils in the early years.
