WATERCOLOUR PAINTINGS

Whilst some of the year 5/6 children were in Ullswater, the year 6 children, that stayed at school, were all in Miss Stanley's class for the week. For our art lessons, we did some watercolour paintings. We decided to add masking tape to the paper, before we started, so that it would give a really nice finish at the end. Take a look!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Class 9 hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Take a look at this child playing Jingle Bells on the flute. I'm sure you will agree that she did an amazing job.
Well done :)

PANTO - BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
On Thursday, year 6 had the best day ever! We all went to Wakefield and watched the Pantomime (Beauty and the Beast). It was absolutely fabulous and we had an amazing time. We are so grateful to a wonderful, kind lady who made this all possible.  It was so nice to be out and about again, after the restrictions of COVID19, and we all got in to the Christmas spirit and enjoyed every second of it.

National Space Centre

As we have been learning about Earth and Space in Science, we went to visit the National Space Centre in Leicester. This was the first school trip that many of us had been on since before Covid so it was even more amazing. We all had the best day and we learnt so much more about Earth and Space. The Planetarium was one of our favourites as it was all in 3D and we felt like we were actually in space. Take a look at our photos that show what we got up to at the National Space Centre.

Greek Salad

Because we have been learning all about Ancient Greece, we researched Greek food, in particular a Greek Salad and the ingredients that are used and why. The children then got the opportunity to taste all of these ingredients and fill out an evaluation form as to what they thought about them (olives didn't prove very popular). The children then designed and created their own Greek Salads trying to use as many ingredients (that was in the traditional Greek Salad) as they possibly could. If the children really didn't like a specific ingredient, they could substitute it. Take a look at our photos.
Greek Headdresses
In history, this year, we have been learning all about the Greeks. During one of our history lessons, we looked at all the different Greek Gods and how they differ and what they are the god of. Then, in one of our art lessons, we had to design and make our own headdresses based on one of the Greek Gods or mythological creatures from Greek Mythology. Take a look at some of our finished products.
