We had a fabulous day out at Worsbrough Mill. We learnt about flour and how it is made before taking a long walk around the reservoir. We saw dragonflies, crawfish and ducks! It was so much fun. Have a look at our delicious tarts! We had so much fun making and eating them. We had so much fun making fruit kebabs and eating them as part of our DT topic. As part of our persuasive writing unit, the children created mini radio adverts for a theme park or zoo. We used rhetorical questions, exaggeration and emotive language to persuade someone to visit! Wonderful reading from these super stars. We really enjoyed learning this famous Christmas poem by Clement Clark Moore which was written in 1882 but is still enjoyed by so many today.
Class 5 worked in pairs to add and subtract 1, 10 and 100. In pairs, one child made a starting number and wrote it on their whiteboard whilst the other child made the same number with place value counters. Then, the 1st child gave 5 instructions to add or subtract 1, 10 or 100 from the number they had written down. After every instruction, they had to write their answer on their whiteboard. Then, the 2nd child follows the instructions but changers the counters. Didn't we look smart with our yellow outfits. We enjoyed supporting a very important cause today. We had great fun writing and performing our own radio adverts for a new tourist attraction. Have a listen!
Look at all our fabulous costumes! We really enjoyed celebrating all the amazing books and authors, from Black Beauty by Anna Sewell to Matilda by Roald Dahl. |
