Investigating The Best Places For Plants To Grow

27/2/2023

In Class 1 we have been investigating what plants need to grow. We created an experiment to test this. We put 3 beans in different environments. The 1st bean was put on the window, it had light, air and water. The 2nd bean was put in the cupboard. This bean had air and water but no light. The 3rd bean was put on the classroom door, this bean had some light, air and water.
As a class we predicted that the bean in the window would grow the best as it had all 3 things plants need to grow.
We have found out that in fact the bean on the classroom door grew the best. The one in the cupboard grew but it was yellow, this is because it had no sunlight!
The 3rd bean on the bean didn't germinate. We discussed this and wondered if it could be because it's too cold. Our new investigation will test this theory by moving the bean inside the classroom. What do you think might happen?

We Are All Artists

26/2/2023

This half term in Class 1 we are creating art with various textures. We have looked at art created by the local artist Andy Goldsworth. We were inspired by how he used natural objects and created something beautiful. We used natural objects found in our schools woodland to create patterns and pictures, we really let our creativity take over and were proud of the artwork we had created.

Rock Star Day

6/2/2023

On Friday we celebrated Number day and dressed up as Rockstar's and completed Times Table Rock Star challenges!
We all loved being a Rockstar for the day!  Check out our fabulous costumes!
We raised money for the great cause of the NSPCC. We can't wait until our next dress up day. Rock on!
