Yesterday we had two special visitors in school from the South Yorkshire Fire Service to talk to all children in year 3 about fire safety. It was really interesting and we learnt how to keep safe in the event of a fire. We also learnt about what the fire service do and found out that they also rescue people when they are in danger. When there is a fire we now know that we need to have an escape plan, especially if we are at home. It is really important to practise your fire escape plan so that you are prepared if a fire occurs at home. Fire is really dangerous. If our clothes catch fire we know that we should STOP, DROP and ROLL to put it out. Not only did we learn about fire, we also learnt about road and water safety. We know how to use roads carefully, wearing a helmet if we are out on our bikes and how to make a star with our bodies in the water if we get into difficulties. Take a look at our pictures.
